Privacy Policy

You do not need to create an account, enter an email address, or provide any personal data to use TimeZone Convert.

Automatically collected data. When you visit the Service, Google Analytics automatically collects certain technical information, including your approximate location (derived from your IP address), browser type and version, operating system, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and referring URLs. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.

Timezone detection. Your current timezone is detected entirely client-side by your browser using the standard Intl.DateTimeFormat().resolvedOptions().timeZone API. This information never leaves your device — it is not sent to our servers.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies beyond those set by Google Analytics (see Section 3).

We use browser localStorage for two purposes, both entirely client-side:

• Theme preference — remembers whether you have chosen dark or light mode.
• Selected timezones — remembers the list of timezones you have added to the converter, so your selections persist across page reloads.

This localStorage data is stored only in your own browser and is never transmitted to us or any third party. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Google Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*) are first-party cookies set in your browser by Google's analytics script. They persist for up to 2 years and are used solely to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. You can prevent their use by opting out — see Section 3 for details.

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. GA4 helps us understand how visitors interact with the Service — such as which pages are most visited and where traffic comes from — so we can improve the experience for everyone.

Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, session duration, browser and device type, and approximate geographic location (country/region derived from a anonymised IP address). We do not use GA4's advertising features, and we do not share this data with any third party for marketing purposes.

Opting out. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by:

• Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Enabling "Do Not Track" or similar privacy settings in your browser (where honoured).
• Using a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts.

We may also use basic server-level access logs (IP address, referrer, user agent) retained by our hosting provider for security and uptime monitoring only. These logs are not used for marketing and are not shared beyond what is required by our hosting provider's terms of service.

The following third-party services are used on this site:

• Google Analytics 4 — collects anonymised usage data as described in Section 3. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — serves web fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive your IP address as part of the standard HTTP request. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, advertising networks, or any other third-party tracking pixels or embeds beyond those listed above.

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
